Nehru Seva Sangh Primary School at Bhawanipatna, Dt. Kalahandi:

Nehru Seva Sangh Primary School at Paramanandapur is started in 1998. The strength of Student was 48 during the year under report. Total 4 teachers were engaged to impart education upto Class-V.

Nehru Seva Sangh M.E. School at Banpur, Dist. Khordha:

Nehru Seva Sangh M.E.(U.P) school is started in 1980 and is recognised (obtained CoR) by Govt. of Orissa, Mass and Education Department, Govt. of Odisha. The strength of student is 149 (Male- 59 & Female- 90) during the year under report. Free lodging, boarding, uniform, health care and recreational facilities were provided to all students and Education is imparted up to 7th standard along with vocational training in Music, Candle, Coir doormat making and fine art etc. Educational materials like Text Books, Reading & Writing materials were provided to all children during the period under report. Qualified and Experienced teachers are engaged to impart education and co- corricular activities.

Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA) for Adoption:

The SAA runs at Paramanandapur, Bhawanipatna (Kalahandi) for one unit i.e. 10 abandoned and relinquished children for promotion of in-country and inter-country adoption. There are 12 children were maintained in the Home. Total 5 (4 in-country & 1 inter-country) children were adopted during the year under report. At the end of the year the inmate position was 7. In addition awareness activities were also under taken and the staff, members of the management committee participated in various seminars, capacity building programmes organized by the state & central Govt and non-govt organizations during the period under report.

Children`s Home (CCI) at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi District

The Children`s Home at Bhawanipatna has been running since 1978 with strength of 100 children. During the year 2019-20 total 120 children were enrolled. Out of which 16 were newly admitted and 22 were moved out/de-institutionalised during the period under report. Six children have appeared in AHSC Examination 2020 and one boy also appeared the annual CHSE Exam 2020. One child was studying in +2 1st year Arts and all children enrolled in academic programme were also promoted to next higher classes during the session. Besides, 10 children were also enrolled in Industrial Training Courses in local Govt. ITI. Eight regular and ten additional staff members have been engaged for care and maintenance of this project. Regular planning, supervision & monitoring were made by the CWC, DCPU, DIC, HMC & ADJ, Kalahandi for smooth running of this project The number of inmates at the end of the year was 98. In addition to their entire maintenance, health care and general education, skill formation training was provided in Computer Education, Bamboo Craft, Cutting & Tailoring, Wool Knitting, Fine Art, Kitchen garden, along with self defence, Moral teaching and Yogic & aerobics exercises are also imparted. For recreation T.V. & Sports facilities like- foot ball, cricket, badminton, chess were provided, Outings and cultural events are also conducted. Our children participated in Bock, District, State and National level events in various occasions conducted by the Organisations and their respective schools, colleges and District & State organisations along with Govt. Departments and gained wide range experiences. Besides, the Children of CCI, Kalahandi were participated in District & State level Competitions “HAUSALA- 2019” bagged prizes/ medals (36) and certificates during the year under report. A mini library is running particularly for the inmates of Children`s Home. More than 550 books are available in this library. Besides, monthly magazines/ Daily News papers are also provided for the children. The Children of the Home are getting benefit regularly from this library. One Computer Lab has been running for the inmates of Children`s Homes (CCIs) and thirty more students were experienced with computer skills during the period under report.

Children`s Home (CCI) at Banpur in Khordha District:

Children`s Home (CCI) at Banpur in Khordha district has been running since 1976 with the strength of 100 inmates. During the year 2019-20 total 59 children were enrolled. 5 children were newly admitted and 16 were moved out/de-institutionalized including 2 inmates are placed in after care programme and 3 are transferred to other CCI during the year under report. In AHSC 8 inmates & in CHSE 2 inmates have appeared in 2020 and other children enrolled in academic programme were also promoted to next higher class during the session. Eight regular and 10 additional staff members are engaged for this project. Regular planning, supervision & monitoring were made by the CWC, DCPU, DIC, HMC & ADJ, Khordha for smooth running of this project. The number of inmates at the end of the year was 43. In addition to their entire maintenance, health care and general education, skill formation training is provided in Computer Education, Coconut Coir, Cane Willow and Bamboo Craft, Cutting & Tailoring, Wool Knitting, Fine Art, Kitchen garden, along with self defence, Moral teaching and Yogic exercises are also imparted. For recreation T.V. & Sports facilities like, foot ball, cricket, badminton, chess were provided, Outings and cultural events are also conducted. Five students experienced with computer skills during the period under report During this year “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, a community level programme was conducted to generate wide range of awareness among public. Various events and activities like competitions among school children, awareness rally, signature campaigning and public meeting were conducted to promote girls empowerment and to avoid inequalities, discrimination, exploitation faced by the girls to protect girl child in the society. Earlier, in January DCPU, Khordha also conducted “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” programme at NSS to create awareness and highlight the needs & challenges faced by the girls. Both the programmes were very successful among girls in this area.
