Founder's Message

Santh Harihar Ram was born on 8th October 1933 at Banpur. During his childhood when innumerable ideals cropped up in his clean-slate mind, he was chiefly attracted to the life of a Sanyasi and moved as a mendicant in Mathura, Brindaban and Rishikesh, which are considered as the most holy places of India. After going through a book by Paul Brunton he was attracted to Paramacharya Swami Chandrasekharendra Saraswati, the Jagadguru Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti, who accepted him as a sincere disciple. In response to the Guru's advice, he started social work and religious Sadhana side by side. In course of time Nehru Seva Sangh acquired its present gigantic shape. Despite his immense task as the Principal Secretary of Sangh, he continued all rituals and penance of Sanyasi. Besides, he practised many tantric rituals and pursued faith-healing. Subsequently all his responsibilities and rituals put much stress on him and very abruptly the spiritual light of Banpur went out on 27th of October 2002 leaving us in entire darkness. But his life would remain as a burning example of dedication and sacrifice. He would be ever worshipped as the Santh of Banpur, the Saint of Orissa and the Swamiji at national level.

As martyr of mystic truths his life would inspire the youth of Orissa and the posterity would be enshrined by his sweet memories. People would be constantly reminded of such a personality who moved on our midst with a feeble body but a strong mind, a benevolent heart and a pious spirit earning glory across time Eternal.
